The children in the family

As a pain patient with young children, many people experience a guilty conscience and sadness about not being able to do the activities with them that they would like to and have been able to do in the past. You may feel sad that you cannot offer the same things that "other parents" can, and you may be embarrassed that your child has to bring friends home to visit if you have to stay on the couch.

This guilt is often unfounded, and it is important to remember that children are very spacious and the most important thing is to be present and aware of them. Therefore, you need to find other activities that you can do together.

If you are in a bad mood because of the pain, it is important to let the children know that it has nothing to do with them. Children pick up on many more signals than we think, and it is important that they do not interpret it as them being the reason why mom or dad is in a bad mood.
