Managing health, diet, and exercise
Often when we think of health, diet, and exercise, we think of discipline and prohibitions. It can be something like: "Now I have to pull myself together" or "I'm not allowed to...". In this course, we want to work with a completely different attitude and a completely different approach to health, diet, and exercise, which is more self-loving or self-compassionate. It is more about noticing what you need, what you thrive on, and why it is important and valuable to you to do exactly that, rather than acting on an automatic pilot.

Within mindfulness practice, there are the formal exercises (body scan, breathing meditation, etc.) where you practice specific techniques or skills (observing and naming, being non-judgmental and non-reactive), but there are also the more informal practices where you strive for more presence and awareness in everyday life, both in everyday tasks but also more presence and awareness in relation to yourself and your relationships. In the following, we describe a number of areas in everyday life where you can play with becoming more mindful, present, and aware in relation to your own health.
