Traditional treatment
Most women with endometriosis live a normal and acceptable life despite the disease, but unfortunately, experience shows that up to 10-20% of women with endometriosis develop chronic pelvic pain. In addition to traditional treatments, there are various supplement treatments, techniques, and lifestyle changes that you can seek out on your own.
Many women with endometriosis find that a combination of different supplement treatments can be a good way to improve symptoms, wellbeing, and quality of life. These may focus on dietary changes, exercise, psychological support, or therapy or, as in this session, mindfulness training and yoga exercises. mindfulness-træning og yoga.

Dietary changes
Diet can have a huge impact on menstrual pain and gastrointestinal problems, and individualized dietary changes can help alleviate the symptoms of these conditions and improve quality of life. You can read more about endometriosis, diet, and gastrointestinal issues in session 8 of this program.
Exercise
Exercise in itself can relieve pain and increase your overall health and resistance to disease. If you're in good shape, you not only feel less tired because you can complete everyday tasks effortlessly and without having to lie down, but you actually live longer and feel healthier.
Physical activity, in general, has a wide range of health benefits and is particularly relevant to endometriosis for a number of reasons, which will be explored in session 8 on 'Health, diet and exercise'.
Psychological support or therapy
Psychological support or therapy can have positive effects on pain experience, help to accept and manage pain in everyday life, and help process any difficult feelings, thoughts, and past experiences that life with endometriosis has brought.
A new Danish study has shown that psychological support and therapy in combination with exercise can improve the quality of life significantly in women suffering from chronic pelvic pain due to endometriosis. It was also found that women experienced more control over the disease/pain, better emotional well-being, and higher pain acceptance.
Mindfulness training
Mindfulness training can increase both physical and mental well-being. The same Danish study showed that a pain management program based on mindfulness training and yoga led to the same improvement in quality of life and had the same effect on perceived disease/pain control, emotional well-being, and pain acceptance as a psychological treatment without mindfulness training and yoga.
